Seasonal Tax Preparer
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 4-5+ years of tax preparation experience
- Availability to work from January through April for each tax season
- Experience with income tax preparation
- Working knowledge of financial statements
- Experience with Excel, Word, etc.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software, such as CCH Axcess
- Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication skills
Duties
- Serve multiple clients to include but not limited to the following:
- Prepare individual, business, and other types of tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings for multiple types of clients
- Maintain fixed assets registers
- Prepare property tax returns
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation of tax information, including client records, correspondence, and work papers. Ensure compliance with record keeping requirements and firm policies.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary tax information and answer questions.
- Work in conjunction with Greyrock recurring client teams to prepare the recurring client tax returns.
- Utilize tax preparation software effectively to streamline the tax preparation process and ensure accuracy of calculations. Stay informed about updates and changes to software functionality.
- Manage workload effectively to meet tax filing deadlines and client expectations. Prioritize tasks and allocate resources appropriately to ensure timely completion of tax returns.
- Reports directly to Tax Manager

Senior Manager – Tax Services
Duties
Serve multiple clients as Senior Manager of Tax Services, to include but not limited to the following:
- Review individual, business, and other types of tax returns, including federal, state, and local filings for multiple types of clients (be willing to prepare, as needed)
- Review tax returns prepared by junior preparers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with tax laws. Provide feedback and guidance to improve the quality of tax filings and ensure adherence to firm standards.
- Prepare and review tax projections and estimates
- Review fixed assets registers
- Prepare and review property tax returns
- Respond to federal and multi-jurisdictional notices on behalf of clients
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation of tax information, including client records, correspondence, and workpapers. Ensure compliance with recordkeeping requirements and firm policies.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary tax information, answer questions, and provide tax planning advice. Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Work in conjunction with Greyrock recurring client teams to support and advise contracted clients.
- Manage the timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other applicable taxes. Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Utilize tax preparation software effectively to streamline the tax preparation process and ensure accuracy of calculations. Stay informed about updates and changes to software functionality.
- Manage workload effectively to meet tax filing deadlines and client expectations. Prioritize tasks and allocate resources appropriately to ensure timely completion of tax returns.
- Mentor and train members of the Tax Team, providing guidance on tax preparation techniques, software usage, and client communication. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to remain current on tax issues
- Miscellaneous projects as they arise
- Reports directly to Tax Director or Tax Shareholder
Requirements
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in accounting and/or taxation
- 7-8+ years of public accounting or relevant industry experience
- Experience with income tax preparation and planning
- Working knowledge of financial statements
- Experience with Excel, Word, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication skills
