The name Greyrock was born out of a quiet moment of reflection—one that Scott experienced while overlooking the rugged face of a North Carolina mountainside during his years of developing golf courses and golf course communities. At that point, thoughts of creating and launching a Greenville-based firm that could stand out and be different were in the beginning stages of rolling through his mind. As the vision for the firm began to take shape, Scott knew he didn’t want the company to be named after, or be about, just one person. It needed a name that stood for something stronger, something lasting—much like the face of that mountain. The name Greyrock symbolizes stability, resilience, and a foundation bigger than any single person—exactly what we desire our firm to be.
